  • It’s best to measure the furniture seating area rather than the cushion.
  • Use a firm tape measure – not a flexible one for the best results.
  • Round up or round down to the nearest inch.

If your cushion has a Standard Radius Curve

The radius of the rounded corner is the distance from the inside corner of the framing square to where the curve starts.

  1. Ideally a framing square is best but if you don’t have one, then extend the length of two rulers or tape measure so that the ends meet.
  2. Measure from the start of the curve (2) to the corner (1) where the two rulers/tape measures meet.

Deep Seating Club Chair/Swivel/Rocker

  1. Measure the height of your chair from its tallest point to the seat. Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.
  2. Measure the back width between the arms. Place your tape measure on the inside of one arm and measure across to the inside of the other arm.
  3. Measure the seat width, between the arms. Place your tape measure on the inside of one arm and measure across to the inside of the other arm.
  4. Measure the seat depth. You’ll measure the seat’s depth from the center of the front edge to the center of the rear, where the seat meets the back. Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.

Note: Make sure to subtract the thickness of your seat cushion from the height of the chair back.

Sofa

  1. Measure the height of your sofa from its tallest point to the seat. Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.
  2. Measure the back width between the arms. Place your tape measure on the inside of one arm and measure across to the inside of the other arm.
  3. Measure the seat width, between the arms. Place your tape measure on the inside of one arm and measure across to the inside of the other arm.
  4. Measure the seat depth. You’ll measure the seat’s depth from the center of the front edge to the center of the rear, where the seat meets the back. Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.

Note: Make sure to subtract the thickness of your seat cushion from the height of the chair back.

Loveseat

  1. Measure the height of your loveseat from its tallest point to the seat. Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.
  2. Measure the back width between the arms. Place your tape measure on the inside of one arm and measure across to the inside of the other arm.
  3. Measure the seat width, between the arms. Place your tape measure on the inside of one arm and measure across to the inside of the other arm.
  4. Measure the seat depth. You’ll measure the seat’s depth from the center of the front edge to the center of the rear, where the seat meets the back. Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.

Ottoman

  1. Measure the seat length.
  2. Measure the seat width.

Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.

  1. Measure the back height of your chaise from its tallest point to the seat (hinge). Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.
  2. Measure the back width between the arms. Place your tape measure on the inside of one arm and measure across to the inside of the other arm.
  3. Measure the seat width, between the arms. Place your tape measure on the inside of one arm and measure across to the inside of the other arm.
  4. Measure the seat depth. You’ll measure the seat’s depth from the center of the front edge to the center of the rear, where the seat meets the back at the hinge. Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.

Note: We recommend no more than 3.5 inches thickness for a Chaise Lounge Cushion

Bench

  1. Measure the seat width, between the arms. Place your tape measure on the inside of one arm and measure across to the inside of the other arm.
  2. Measure the seat depth. You’ll measure the seat’s depth from the center of the front edge to the center of the rear, where the seat meets the back.

Curved Sectional

  1. Measure the upper back width, use a soft tape measure.
  2. Measure the lower back width.
  3. Measure the middle height from seat to back top.
  4. Measure the middle depth/length as shown.
  5. Measure as shown.
  6. Measure as shown.
  7. Round up your result to the nearest half-inch.
